The article presents the conditions of the self-reinforcement of urban and regional development. The ordered set of conditions creates a non-formalised model for the self-reinforcing of the development of cities and regions in an economy in which the use of knowledge is intensifying. The theoretical basis for the model is a new theory of endogenous growth. Further research with the model as the starting point may allow for the introduction of conclusions as regards a development policy that is especially suitable for cities and regions in which resources are tight. - (BJ)
