Engaging the local community in tourism development planning : a case study in Mapatuland

Auteurs :
NGUBANE, J.S.
DIAB, R.D.

Description :
Maputaland is widely recognised as a prime tourist destination because of its unique natural characteristics and cultural attractions, yet tourism development has hitherto been very limited. The failure to develop tourism opportunities is deeply rooted in the area's political past. A local community consultation process provides insight into perspectives on future directions in order to create tourism developments. - (AJC)
