The conference on environmental economic geography held in March 2001 in Cologne gave rise to this volume which contains a collection of articles dealing with environmental issues from an economic geography perspective. It gives an overview of current topics and empirical research projects, takes up conceptual questions and discusses future perspectives of an environment related economic geography. Beside others environmental problems in economic and industrial geography (BRAUN), cooperation networks and sustainability (STÖRMER), the greening of industry through environmental service-providers (SCHULZ), insurance and corporate sustainability (BLÄSER), environmental standards in the coffee sector (DÜNCKMANN/MAYER), waste management (JOCHEMICH/SCHLESINGER) and the ecological modernisation of economic geography (SOYEZ/SCHULZ) are discussed. - (HPB)
