High-magnitude landslide events on a limestone-scarp in central Germany : morphometric characteristics and climatic controls

Description :
This paper explores which external climatic variables of difference temporal scales influence the occurrence of high-magnitude landslide events. The investigations were focused on the Wellenkalk-cuesta scarp in the Thuringia Basin. Rainfall parameters of different temporal scales (annual rainfall to extreme short-time rainfall events) are analyzed in the context of the given morphostructural, morphometric and geological setting.
