Image processing and roughness analysis of exposed bedrock fault planes as a tool for paleoseismological analysis : results from the Campo Felice fault (central Apennines, Italy)

Description :
This paper presents preliminary results obtained for the Campo Felice (CF) fault (central Apennines) : general description of the seismotectonic framework; geomorphologic features indicating a tectonic origin of the CF fault scarp. A specific section is dedicated to the methods of micromorphologic analysis of the exposed fault plane. The results are discussed both in terms of their local paleoseismological implications and in the light of a general paleoseismological perspective.
