Description :
This article presents a new method for generating/identifying feasible patches for reserve design. The AA. define criteria for viable kit-fox patches on a habitat suitability grid in eastern Alameda and Contra Costa countries, California. They present an algorithmic procedure that can build kit-fox patches, and show its behavior through a number of examples. Finally, they compare their site-growing process to the recent heuristic proposed by Brookes (1997a).
