Description :
This paper focuses on the Klip River, and shows how lithological changes along the valley result in pronounced and abrupt changes in channel and floodplain geomorphology, and the location of associated floodplain wetlands. Resistant bedrock outcrops occur at intervals along the river course and exert a strong control on the nature of river activity, not only within the immediate reach, but also in the dominantly alluvial reaches upstream.
