Description :
Two sediment traps were placed on the bed of the pond in May 1995, after the earthquake, in order to investigate earthquake-related changes in erosion, transportation and sedimentation that may have been recorded in the lake sediments. Six years after the earthquake there were no marked surface movements related to the earthquake, even though the sedimentation rates had increased slightly. A new steady state for the structure of the earthquake-modified surface had evidently been reached.
