Stream channelization and swamp formation in the U.S. Coastal Plain

Description :
The aim of this paper is to describe the linkage between tributary channelization and swamp formation in western Tennessee. Specifically, this paper discusses : the relationship between tributary channelization and the formation of channel blockages; the formation of swamps upstream of these blockages; changes in bottomland forest vegetation after these swamps develop.
