La distribution spatiale de l'activité économique dans l'agglomération de Varsovie

This article presents conditions for the development of enterprises in the former Warsaw voivodship in 2000. The first part shows economic entities' locations according to membership of : the agricultural, industrial, lower and higher-order service sectors. A significant heterogeneousness of the researched area was noted in the sense of different level of development in the left- and right-bank parts of the agglomeration. The unit structural analysis allowed for a division based on the type of economic activity. The possession of detailed information on entities' locations made it possible to construct distribution models on businesses' activity. It was shown that these models have a concentric character and that there are considerable differences depending on activity type and geographical direction. - (BJ)
