Biotermiczne cechy klimatu Polski

Caractères biothermiques du climat de la Pologne

Auteur :
BŁAŻEJCZYK, K.

Description :
The bioclimatic conditions of Poland have been characterised several times with the use of traditional biometeorological indices. While the previous studies offered a general message dealing with the seasonal and spatial distribution of bioclimate, they did not include information of direct, physiological relationships between man and his surroundings. This paper proposes a new approach based on the human heat balance analysis. Biothermal indices like subjective temperature (STI), haet load (HL) and physiological strain (PhS) are derived from man-environment heat exchange model MENEX―2002. STI evaluates the thermal sensations in man outdoors during light physical activity. HL assesses the loading of the thermoregulatory system in man in a fluctuating outdoor climate. PhS defines the kind and intensity of physiological processes during adaptation to ambient thermal conditions. - (BJ)
