Sedimentology and facies distribution of Pleistocene cold-climate aeolian and fluvial deposits in the Roer Valley Graben (southeastern Netherlands)

Description :
This paper describes and interprets the sedimentary facies that can be recognized in the fine-grained deposits of the Boxtel Formation in the Roer Valley Graben and explains the vertical and lateral facies distribution. It is demonstrated that the facies characteristics and architecture are related to a combination of local subsidence and the generally cold-climate conditions during and after deposition.
