Changements dans le marché du travail rural en mettant l'accent sur le district de Warmińsko-Mazurskie

The paper seeks to characterise the changes which took place on the rural labour market in Poland in general, and Warmińsko-Mazurskie (Varmia-Mazury) voivodship in particular, in the years 1995-2001. The changes were described by means of the coefficient of economic activity, employment index, unemployment rate and level of monthly earnings. Analysis shows that the last six years have seen rural labor markets both nationally and in Warmia and Mazury dominated by a supply element, with a simultaneous decrease in the demand for labour. The negative outcome of this situation has been a constant increase in unemplyment rate, whose high level and dynamics have been particularly visible in Warmińsko-Mazurskie voivodship, where structural unemployment has resulted from the liquidation of the State Farms. - (BJ)
