Współczesna rzeźba Polski dziedziczy cechy peryglacjalne

Caractères de relief périglaciaire hérités dans le relief actuel de la Pologne

Auteur :
STARKEL, L.

Description :
In the youngest history of the evolution of relief on what is today Polish territory, it is possible to distinguish three main periods : the cold phase of a periglacial climate during the last glacial ; the phase of temperate climate of the late glacial-Holocene, with a dense vegetation cover ; and a superimposed phase of deforestation and agriculture of varying length. Here, the A. considers the role these three phases played in shaping the landscape of various morphogenetic zones, concluding that, beside the young glacial relief of northern poland, the periglacial cold phase with permafrost played a substantial role in transforming relief, something that has remained well expressed in sediments and relief up to the present time. - (BJ)
