Description :
The AA. report new microfossil data and radiocarbon ages from Quadra Sand at Point Grey, Vancouver. These new data provide strong evidence for more than 100 m of glacio-isostatic depression of the crust at the periphery of the Cordilleran ice sheet about 28,000 cal yr B.P. Their estimate of glacio-isostatic depression is the first for the early phase of the Fraser Glaciation in the Pacific Northwest, and the data confirm that the ice sheet in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia was rapidly expanding at that time.
