Description :
Mount Kenya region is witnessing increasing conflicts over water resources. Mount Kenya itself is like a water tower to the footzones and adjoining lowlands area of the Upper Ewaso Ng'iro Basin. Since independence (1964), pastoralism and large ranches and farms have been replaced with small agropastoralists, export-oriented horticulture, and a network of towns and trading centers. Paper discusses how to mitigate emerging conflicts among these water users via a multilevel strategy. - (SLD)
