Description :
Myrica Esculenta Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don (Kaiphal) is an income-generating small wild tree with edible fruit and other by-products in the sub-Himalayan region of India. This study assesses the availability of the species in different habitats, analyzes regeneration patterns, potential and actual fruit yields, and evaluates trends in the collection and marketing of the fruit. The availability and yield potential of M. esculenta in the region is good, and there is potential for the government to promote small-scale village enterprises. - (SLD)
