Auteurs :
YOUNG, K.R.
LEÓN, B.

Description :
A. review the biodiversity in Peru's eastern montane forests, which they state occupy a narrow band between 1500 and 3500 m ; this can be further divided into upper and lower montanes. These are very biologically diverse natural environments due to topography and a dynamic geologic history. Many plant and animal species are found in only one watershed or are restricted to a narrow altitudinal belt. AA. want more parks and preserves, expansion of small preserves or their interconnection by conservation corridors, and more efforts to control poaching and arson. - (SLD)
