Efforts to protect biodiversity and promote sustainable forestry in the Appalachian Mountains : an interview with West Virginian landowner John Dalen

Auteur :
BYERS, A.C.

Description :
Dalen discusses his effort to bring back the balsam first in about half of Blister Swamp, which was cleared for grazing by his great, great uncle, John McClure. Then he answers a number of questions about logging practices in West Virginia as logging is his main source of livelihood. He thinks that the forested area of West Virginia is increasing, mainly due to the abandonment of small farms. - (SLD)
