Description :
In this paper a technique is proposed that uses historical map sequences to assist simulating future land use scenarios. These scenarios are, in turn, used to assess the impact on, and off-site consequences of, soil erosion through application of a soil erosion model (RUSLE; Renard et al., 1991) and a sediment delivery model (SEDEM; Van Rompaey et al., 2001b). The Dijle catchment in central Belgium is used as an example application.
