Land use change effects on abandoned terraced soils in a Mediterranean catchment, NE Spain

Description :
The AA. assess the effect of land use and land use change on soil degradation or regeneration, taking into account the main physicochemical properties, runoff generation, sediment yield and nutrient depletion, at a plot and catchment scale in a typical rural, partially abandonned, Mediterranean area. They have selected 11 different environments along 2 altitudinal gradients, from 5 to 50 years of abandonment and vineyards and olive trees cultivated fields, in the Serra de Rodes catchment, Province of Girona. They have set up replicated erosion microplots in each environment.
