Description :
The coastal dune complex southwest of Holland is fairly typical of the coastal dunes along the southeastern shore of Lake Michigan, consisting of massive parabolic dunes along the shore and smaller backdunes up to 1 km inland. This study tested the age hypothesis of the backdunes and their relationship with the massive parabolic dunes through OSL dating and comparison of surface soils on dune crests.
