Description :
Geomorphologic and pedologic field mapping, differentiation of solifluction layers and mineralogical analyses were employed to examine the mass movements. The goal of the investigations was to distinguish between Holocene and Pleistocene landslides, to classify different, climate-driven cycles of slope evolution and to identify potential risk areas. This study further shows that recent mass movements in Pleistocene landslides areas generally were triggered by subsurface and surface water. These results are important for the construction of computer-assisted hazard maps.
