This study focuses on the historical development of telecommunications in the agglomeration of Budapest. Due to the long and intensive development process, in Hungary a Budapest-centred and efficient telecommunication network emerged by the late 1990s, which supports the economic development of the region contributing to the higher level of information flow among the population of the agglomeration zone. - (JS)
