Description :
Miocene carbonates intercalated in a deposit of Upper Freshwater Molasse (Middle Miocene), exposed in a limestone quarry at Heidenheim-Mergelstetten, were analysed geochemically and micromorphologically. The aim was to reconstruct the soil forming processes, landscape evolution and prevailing climatic conditions during the Middle Miocene in SW Germany.
