As a city besieged : place, Zionism, and the deforestation of Jerusalem
Auteur :COHEN, S.E.
Description :
The A. examines the conflict over a small forest at the margin of Jerusalem that is the subject of dispute between a recently formed coalition of Green advocates and the municipality, with the Greens seeking to prevent the destruction of parts of the forest that the city wants to use for development. He shows that theories of space, place, and resistance must be supplemented with a contextual analysis of the master cultural narratives that form the symbolic grounds of these conflicts.
