The neighbourhood contact hypothesis : evidence from the multicity of urban inequality

This hypothesis states that interracial neighbourhood contact acts to break down prejudice. By exploiting unique features of new U.S. data, the estimates are the first to account for the endogeneity of the contact : it affects the neigbourhood racial preferences of Whites and Blacks.
