A microcontroller-based data-logger design for seasonal hydrochemical studies

Description :
The aim of this research is twofold : to develop an accurate assessment of long-term solution processes in the Marble Mountains (California) subalpine karst, under modern conditions as opposed to the glaciokarstic conditions significant in the past; and to understand the seasonal and episodic nature of hydrologic and solution processes, in relation to soil CO2 flux and hydrologic events of snowmelt and precipitation. An automated data-logger installation designed to perform under difficult conditions has provided 4 years data at a 2-hour sampling interval of electrical conductivity, water level and temperature at the Marble Mountains karst resurgence.
