The Municipality of Lausanne is trying to give tangible responses to the problems resulting from the car traffic. The public transport supply has been improved and more restrictive measures affected parking and private traffic. This policy, however, did not have a considerable effect in order to a traffic cut, and the population remains in favour of the private car more than of the public transport.
