The year 2000 shows an event of great moment : the agreements for a reunification of North and South Korea, after fifty years. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is knowing today considerable economic problems because it is obliged to give back loans received by communist partners. In order to ameliorate its situation, it is evluating a policy of open doors, even if limited to some coastal areas. South Korea is encouraging international projects in the North, but it is fearing the great costs of reunification.
