Elaboration on the nature of woody debris : an ethical snag in the aesthetic justification of organized river cleanup
Auteurs :NEMETH, D.
KEIRSEY, D.
Description :
AA. deconstruct the claim that a river restored to its natural state is a public good. Organized public cleanups such as those sponsored by America Outdoors can disrupt aquatic habitat. Discussed are five responses from river cleanup organizations to a provocative letter stating that non-woody debris should be left in the streams. The social construction of scenic waterways is portrayed as a utopian, aesthetic movement. - (SLD)
