Against the background of historical and socio-economical determinants, the article presents changes in, and the current state of the ownership structure of agricultural land in Poland after eleven years of the economic transformation (1990-2001). The necessary spatial analysis, carried out at the poviat level, embraces private farms, owners of non-farm land, the Treasury's Agricultural Property, farming co-operatives, Church property, and communal property. - (BJ)
