Holocene history of desertification along the woodland-steppe border in northern China

In this paper, pollen and diatom data and chemical and physical analyses of 2 lacustrine sequences are combined to reconstruct the Holocene history of desertification and its relationship to monsoon oscillation and vegetation development. The objectives of this paper are to reconstruct Holocene environmental changes in this ecotonal region using multiple paleoecological data and to discuss the ecological mechanism and driving factors of Holocene desertification in southeastern Inner Mongolia.
