Description :
SAGA (System for Automated Geoscientific Analyses) is a free Open Source Geographical Information System, carried out by a German working group since 1998. Today SAGA is one of the most widely spread Free GIS in the world. This volume intends to give an overview of SAGA's current state of implementation, illustrated by 10 scientific articles, e.g. a GIS supported modelling of ecological flooding at the Danube river, a spatial prediction of soil attributes depending on climate data, the indication of hazard zones in the Bavarian Alps or the problem of image segmentation in the emerging field of object oriented image analysis. - (IfL)
