Geomorphic instability and change. Special issue

Auteur :
HARVEY, A.M.

Description :
The 12 papers have been organised in relation to the temporal and spatial scales of Geomorphic instability. The keynote paper by Phillips deals with uniqueness and predictability in geomorphology within the context of equilibrium and non-equilibrium models. This is followed by 3 papers dealing with intrinsic and event related instability : Soja and Starkel; Wittenberg et al.; and Harvey. Two papers follow that deal with the fluvial processes and change over timescales of decades in channels that have been subjected to human modification : Kiss and Sipos; Harmer and Clifford. Then 2 papers that take a catchment-wide view of fluvial response to environmental change : Parkner et al.; Callow and Smettem. The last 4 papers expand the temporal and/or the spatial contexts : Hooke; Fryirs et al.; Chiverell et al.; Maher et al.
