Description :
This work analyses the typology and distribution of the thoroughly mapped sinkholes in a 50 km2 stretch of the Ebro River valley downstream of Zaragoza city. The study aimed at comparing them with the geological, geomorphological, hydrogeological and hydrochemical data in order to propose a comprehensive interpretation of their origin and present degree of activity. The collapse sinkholes in this area cause substantial damage to the linear infrastructures, buildings and agriculture.
