This article presents the sky-view factor computation. The sky-view factor is an important dataset for a natural process modeling, but it can also be used in many applications that are based on visibility analyses. Visible areas of the Earth's surface are usually determined regarding a single chosen point, but this method allows one to generate a raster whose cells contain generalized data about the sky visibility. The computation is based on the contextual analysis of the DEM, thus results are influenced by the data and moreover, by the shape and the size of the moving window. - (IKR)
