Description :
The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between ENSO and precipitation at the sub-island scale after regionalizing Hawaiian precipitation based on the seasonal pattern. Specifically, this study addresses the following research questions : 1) What regions related to the seasonal timing of precipitation can be clearly defined across the islands? 2) Which ENSO index is most strongly correlated with Hawaiian precipitation in each region? and 3) To what degree are all areas of the islands uniformly dry during El Niño and uniformly wet during La Niña?
