Permafrost distribution and active-layer depths in the McMurdo Dry Valleys, Antarctica

Description :
The aim of this study is to : 1) establish a permafrost database for continental Antarctica and 2) construct permafrost distribution and active-layer depth maps of key ice-free areas and the McMurdo Dry Valleys as a whole. Using a combined dataset that includes more than 800 shallow excavations, the AA. provide a map at a scale of 1:2 million showing the distribution of permafrost.
