The sediment delivery problem revisited

Description :
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the different relations between drainage basin area (A) and area-specific sediment yield (SSY) as reported in literature, and to explore explanations for the differences in the observed trends. The large regional, local and even temporal variability in the trend between A and SSY implies that prediction of SSY based on A alone is troublesome and preferably spatially distributed information on land use, climate, lithology, topography and dominant erosion processes is required.
