In order to determine the broad outlines of the alluvial plain's Holocene evolution, to evaluate the possibilities to settle in the valley floor during the Neolithic and to specify the nature of the substrate on which the site of Madzhari was established, the AA. carried out a series of cores, whose results are presented here.
