Die Hochwasserkatastrophe von 1784 in Mainz. Ursachen, Auswirkungen, Krisenmanagement

L'inondation catastrophique de 1784 à Mayence : causes, conséquences, gestion de crise

Auteur :
HEUSER-HILDEBRANDT, B.

Description :
The high-water marks from 1784 in most cases show the highest flood levels which were ever measured in the villages and cities along the rivers all over Europe. These high-water marks are historical documents of a climate-disaster which caused enormous problems of the public utility in the whole region between the North Sea and the Mediterranean. The city of Mainz at the river Rhine is taken as an example to show how the catastrophe developed and how the people of Mainz experienced this event. - (IFL)
