The Hunsrück is one part of the Rhenish slate-mountains and is - like the other parts - a product of the Devonian period. Its surface configuration consists of a coexistence of multi-storay peneplains with small basins in altitudes between 350 and 550 m and of some long ridges until to a height of 750-800 m. The essay will be the first attempt of the author to create a regional geography of the Hunsrück ; it deals with its historical evolution. - (IFL)
