This paper reports about the quantity and quality of tourist potentials in the Lake Tisza region. Major changes of the tourist market since 1990 are monitored by settlements and empirical research aimed at the evaluation of tourist attractions that was conducted in the summer of 2004 is presented. For the time being Lake Tisza is favoured by tourism policy. Tourism management and marketing has been organised in the region to support the efforts to maintain and increase competitiveness. - (JS)
