Geomorphic consequences of urban development and mining activities; an analysis of study areas in Spain and Argentina

Description :
The analysis has been carried out in 4 study areas : a basin in northern Spain and 3 municipalities in central Argentina. The AA. consider direct effects of excavation, transport and accumulation of materials as well as unintended effects related to erosion/sedimentation processes and transfer of solid materials on the earth surface. Data obtained have been compared with data on solid material transport due to natural processes, in order to assess the relative importance of human contribution to such processes.
