The AA. utilize fine-scale morphometric measurements to map debris flow deposition and determine if the 2 zones of deposition are consistent between multiple alluvial fans in Death Valley, California. They postulate that the current assertion of 2 depositional zones is an oversimplification of the complex, nonlinear processes acting upon these surfaces.
