Description :
The AA. report contemporary dust transportation and deposition based on a 10-month study of aeolian processes along a 300-km3 1section of the superhumid West Coast, South Island, New Zealand.3 1Measured rates of dust deposition and associated meteorological3 1observations shed new light on aeolian processes in mid-latitude3 1West Coast settings and clarify the formation of the Pleistocene3 1loess mantles that blanket much of the West Coast. These are believed to have formed under synoptic circulation patterns similar to those of today.
