Description :
The aims of this study are to quantify soil hydraulic properties of the two main types of agricultural soils in the Loess Plateau, and to compare the effectiveness and accuracy of two different laboratory methods (the undisturbed soil core and the hot-air methods) and two in situ field methods : the internal drainage and Guelph permeameter methods for one of the soils. The data obtained in this study will be used in an ecosystem model to evaluate field-scale water balance partitioning under various field management regimes in the region.
