In view of small size of its territory, regional differences are quite explicit in Slovenia, and negative effects are also evident in the environmental sphere. The rise of material welfare, especially in certain regions, was reached at the cost of exhausting natutal resources and polluting the geographical environment. Slovenia can effectuate sustainable characteristics and the dimensions of its own and of the European spatial and regional scheme by distributing the elementary spatial and regional structures within the scope of different regional capacities of the geographical environment. - (IKR)
