Description :
The total precipitation of the highest 1 day, 3 day, 5 day, 7 day precipitation amount in the Yangtze River basin was analyzed with the help of linear trend analysis and continuous wavelet transform method. The aims of this paper are to demonstrate the changes of the extreme precipitation in different parts of the Yangtze River basin, showing the possible regional responses to global climatic changes; and to detect the periods of extreme precipitation series in the upper, middle and lower Yangtze River basin respectively with the help of continuous wavelet transform method.
